ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Fireflies are delicate little glowing glass spheres that light up when near an electrical field. This opens up a whole new way of thinking about lighting. This project has been about experimenting with different techniques to create a variety of colours and effects.
HOW IT WORKS
Each glass sphere contains a gas mixture that ionizes when placed near an electrical field. By changing the gases and chemicals within the glass you can produce a range of colours. For example, hydrogen creates red, helium yellow, carbon dioxide white, and mercury blue.
